Fast ForWord

Fast ForWordWhat is Fast ForWord?

Fast ForWord is a revolutionary language training program that rapidly builds skills necessary for language competence. On average, individuals with language and reading difficulties make 1.5 to 2 year gains after 4 to 8 weeks of training. Studies further show that these gains last, and that broader academic performance is significantly improved as well.

Fast ForWord improves language skills by combining progressive CD-ROM and Internet technology with over 25 years of research in neuroscience and neuropsychology. The training focuses on improving phonological and receptive auditory skills- a unique approach that moves beyond addressing the symptoms of language problems, and directly attacks the root cause. As a result of this training, neural pathways for processing and understanding language are strengthened.

Fast ForWord consists of seven exercises presented in a game-like environment and includes animations that maintain the child’s interest and rewards correct responses. The training consists of 100 minutes per day, five days per week and therefore, is often completed during the summer months.

The Listening Program®

What is TLP?

listening programThe Listening Program® is a Music-Based Auditory Stimulation™ method. It is a safe, gentle and effective method that helps improve auditory skills needed to effectively listen, learn and communicate.

TLP is comprised of psycho acoustically refined soundtracks which builds on the theories and clinical research of Dr. Alfred Tomatis as well as other sound pioneers. TLP exercises the middle ear muscles and provides training and stimulation on through the inner ear, auditory pathways and onto the brain. Doing this helps build stronger multi-sensory pathways in the brain which then allows the brain to better receive and process auditory stimulation (i.e., language).

Areas of reported improvement include: increased attention span and focus, improved speech and motor improvement, increased auditory perception and decreased sensitivity, increased self-esteem, mood and motivation, increased social interaction, better understanding of spoken language, increased reading, spelling and handwriting, increased physical balance, and coordination and decreased video and verbal scripting/echolalia.
