For children diagnosed with Autism, early intervention and continued treatment is critical.
The Illinois Autism Mandate Law requires all individual and group health insurance policies and HMO contracts provide coverage for the diagnosis and treatment of autism spectrum disorders for children under 21, with an annual benefit of $36,000 for services.
Come learn important strategies to access your insurance coverage as well as limitations to the mandate.

Thursday, January 13th begins at 7:30pm
ABA is a discipline devoted to understanding and improving human behavior. How can that help your child with special needs? Come find out the ABC’s of ABA and see how it can specifically help your child with special needs. The presenter will leave enough time at the end to be available to answer your specific questions about your child.
Professionals and parents who have been told or think ABA is “too rigid” or “therapy that just gives candy” or “therapy that sits at the table all day” are encouraged to attend.
Tuesday, January 18th begins at 7:30pm
Raising and understanding a child with Asperger’s does not come with a parenting manual and is often exhausting. The goal of this support group is to offer education on important topics as well as to provide support and collaboration with other parents and family members and caregivers. This group is led by a Licensed Clinical Social Worker.
Friday, January 28th from 9:00am-12:30pm

- ? Do you give in to your child to stop the whining?
- ? Do you avoid going out in public because your child doesn’t behave?
- ? Do you dread when the phone rings and it is your child’s school calling?

Grandparents often feel like they don’t know how to help their child who has a child with special needs. They don’t want to be too pushy yet, they don’t want to just sit back either. This month’s seminar is for grandparents to learn skills to help their child as well as their grandchild in need. Time will be devoted to answering your specific concerns and questions. You will leave feeling empowered as a grandparent!
